Well, we finally got our 90 gallon tank and stand:) Here is the picture. I know a lot of people like to put their kids in the tank in order to show it off, but I don't have a kid, and it wouldn't be big enough anyway. So, I am doing the next best thing...Here is a picture of the tank and my cat. Next on the list...we are getting some sand from Joel as well as the sump makings, then ordering the rock at some point. We are excited!!!!!

Obviously you're not a cat person!!
-
congrats!
keep the pics coming!
-
Very cool Emily!!! Love the catfish... ;)
-
Very nice! Have you decided on any other equipment?
-
Chris is the brains on all the equipment, but we currently have a berlin (or something) skimmer that cbell gave us. We just need to get a needle wheel for it. We are building a sump out of a 30 long. And we are looking at t5s for lights (they are a wedding present):) A mag 7 is running the sump and we are going to see about getting a mag 5 to work the skimmer. Now, I could be wrong, but this really isn't my department (I leave that to Chris). I just like googling over the tank innerds.

Its nice to see someone else draining their hard earned savings
-
Well, we aren't completely draining it. Most of it is a wedding present:) It was either a high def tv, furniture, or help towards a tank.

Good choice!
-
I would have to agree!
Update...The RODI made it today. We got it all hooked up and started making some water.

Cool!

Chris and I have been thinking about what fish to put in the 90. Here are the definite fish(only because we already own the fish and are tearing down a tank.
2 clowns
1 watchman goby
Here is what we are looking at:
6 line wrasse (one of our favorites)
3-4 dispar anthias
Kole tang? (I love this fish...Chris isn't so sure yet)
May be another tang?
If we end up going with 2 tangs, then we are done.
If we get 0-1 tang, we may look at some other options.
-
Make sure you have a tight lid if you get a 6 line. ;)
-
Yeah, they think they can fly:)
-
Mine did. I think there was an 1/8th inch gap in a "few" places. Of course he found it. That was when I had the 55. :)
-
knock on wood. i have had a six line for a year with no problems. We had him in our open top 65 and now in our open 120.
-
Wow, lucky you! Hopefully it stays that way! :)
-
Please keep the pictures coming! Your new 90g looks very nice!
-
Thanks:) We will keep up with the photos...we just can't get out of here to get anything and then we are waiting for the stuff for the sump. Once all of that comes, then they will be coming:) Maybe I will slide a pic of the cichlid tank as that comes along too.

My 6 line has not been much of a jumper but I know they can. They are actually pretty mean little s@#$. I would go with a less aggressive wrasse like fairy with much more color.
-
man i must have an odd ball six line. He stays to him self and hides alot
-
We used to have on in Chris tank....He was a favorite. The tank it lived in crashed during a move and it didn't make it. When talking about a new tank, that was the first fish Chris thought of. He is considering putting another type of wrasse in, and then we can get a 6 line for our other tank. Don't know yet though.
-
I agree with Charlie. I removed my six line wrasse after it attacked my mandarin fish non stop.
-
id also x the sixline off the list. mine was cool at first, he grew huge fast(now nearing 3", bigger than my tang) but its so hard to get other wrasses in there. it took a while before my twin-spot hog was accepted and now my new filament wrasse is finally starting to make appearances for the first time in over a week but is quickly back in hiding because of the sixline. i am considering getting a mystery wrasse but i would have to get a large one and id keep him in a separate tank on the main system for a couple months until he gets to be Bold enough.
-
I am with slandis on this one. I have a sixline which is also one of my favorite fish, and he is in a 29 gallon with an open top with no problems. I have seen him get into it with some other fish but the fighting never lasted long with no damage to anyone. I think once everyone gets used to everyone it will be ok.
-
From my experience all of the wrasses from the Pseudocheilinus genus[4 line, 6 line,5 line (mystery)] are all bullys or tend to become that way over time. I would stay with members of the Paracheilinus genus (flasher) or genus Cirrhilabrus (fairy/velvet) wrasses. Even some of the fairies can be somewhat bullies. If chosen properly and placed in the tank in order of aggression they can be placed in the tank in harem fahsion and would IMO make a beautiful display in a 90. Just remember my favorite saying when it comes to fish. What you read about them is just a general overall view of how a majority of a particular species is supposed to act. Just remember fish can't read.

Tank is coming along. We finally got it plumbed (and mostly filled) and are waiting for some rock (25-30 lbs from Joel and 75 lbs of dry from Scott). Not sure how much we will put in, but we have options. I was looking at the different wrasses rather than the 6-line, but we ended up holding housing my parents since they began starting their tank over and it was getting beat up by the damsel in the temporary housing tank. I kinda have a feeling she is going to just tell us to keep him. He is happy now in the tank he is because he is not being beat up...he is healing nicely. Anyway, I will post pics when we have the rock. Just wanted to update everyone.
