Is there a quick easy way to kill an aiptasia? I have one on one of my new frags and I'd like to nip it in the bud.

Aiptasia X works real good

Use the club's electric wand that kills them or Joe's Juice is a sure fire bet... peppermint shrimp?

I only have 1 small one. I was hoping there was a home remedy I could try.

Use a syringe (a thin and long needle; you can buy at a pharmacy) and inject lemon juice into the "mouth" of the aiptasia.

Aiptaisia X and Joe's juice work. You just have to cut off all the flow and slowly creep up on the anemone with the syringe then glue their mouths shut.  If you do it wrong, the aiptasia will multiply.

Hot boiling Lemon juice as mentioned also works, as does kalkwasser.

Here is a good link for information on aiptasia and controlling it:

I was able to get rid of it. Mr Obvious stepped up and said simply remove the plug from the tank and scrape the aiptasia off! DUH!!!

Yes, that is an effective way to remove it from a frag plug.

I noticed yesterday morning that the aptasia in my tank is slowly disappearing. Seems my peppermint shrimp are finally going after it. I,d much rather do it this way than using any chemicals or outside source.
