i got these two little guy Sunday hitching on a rescue peice i bought at Coral Ranch, they are about as big as a pencil eraser is round but only about a third of the height of the eraser, all around the outer edge is bright green tenicale type fingers, and in the middle of the little guy it looks like a small slot, and they also move on there own, I know my pics suck but give it your best shot Thanks Don

ya they are purple centered green skirt anemone. They wont get bigger than that ,but they spread faster than most corals and sting them they are considered a nusaunce. Coral ranch has tons of them I had hoped to avoid them in my newer tank ,but some slipped in via the ranch.

also it is not the above name

they are majanos. you can grab them at the base with a pair of tweesers and pull them off or squirt them with some lime water.Sorry about that if I would have saw them I would have gotten them for you.

I personally wouldn't grab them with tweezers if I were you.  They can reproduce asexually...meaning if you leave a tiny piece in the tank or if a piece breaks off...there's another one!  You'll want to treat majanos like aiptasia.  I would try a boiling kalkawasser paste (or very carefully, sodium hydroxide.)

I have and it melts them instantly. They actually eat it and then realize about 2 seconds later that they should not have done that.  :flame:

thats what i thought, ive always heard it was great stuff, but after reading all the different post from the experts on here, i havent heard anyone saying anything about it, just that everybody seems to be having a lot of problems with aptasia, and nobody seems to know how to get rid of it, thought maybe i had heard wrong and it wasnt any good, who knows lol
