Title: site access problem
Post by: Kenn on August 22, 2016, 17:24:34
starting this morning, when I try to access the site with the URL

www.ohioreef.com

I get a file download request (file name is different every time) instead of being directed to the site. The file is always 682 bytes in size.

This is happening on both windows OS as well as Android tablets and phones.

I can access the site by using the following URL:

http://www.ohioreef.com/index.php

So the file is harmless, It is a maintenance mode message.   It's unlikely a hack, just not yet sure where it is coming from.

I have a support ticket logged with our provider.  This appears to be something server level, as opposed to something at the forum level.

Hopefully they can resolve the issue without much downtime.

Thanks for the update!

We just had our first question on our Facebook page about the site being unreachable.

Depending on what server they are using (Apache vs IIS, etc), it may be that they just upgraded the software and it over-wrote the landing page configuration (i.e. index.html, index.htm... basically removed index.php from that configuration line).
