Too funny! ;D
-
A friend did that a year or so ago when he switched from a 300g to a 500g
3 months into using the pool it broke & he lost some amazing fish.
12+ in emperor
12+ in Sohal
10+ Anularus
& a dozen other larg+ fish most of which were Angels
-
Was your friend going to leave the fish in there indefinitely?
-
I built a 2000 gal tank in my basement out of plywood and some old windows i found in the trash. a little marine paint and just add fish
-
Very nice. You just need to add a puffer fish and a few sea urchins to complete the curing reef!
-
why a puffer?

I thought your dad built it..........
-
why a puffer?
Yes, your 750g reef needs an Atlantic Porcupine puffer!
The Porcupine puffer has an additional defense – it is covered with sharp spines that stick straight out when the fish puffs out. Just what every inflatable reef needs.

I found the thread ... of the 2000g basement reef!!!!

No, he sold his 300g to give get money for the 500g+ tank
He took longer then he expected to install the 500g+ (he made the stand, canopy, sponge filter, fuge & all that stuff) & unfortunately a hole developed & he lost everything. A fish could of simply bit the side getting some algae to eat.....
-
What subject do you teach in school?
social studies and science and depending on the day also depends on who won the civil war and whether or not their is gravity on earth
-
someone see if they can find that thread on RC....
there was a guy (in asia i think) built a tank out of cinder blocks - freshwater tank i believe, but link on RC
the tank was a room on the back of his house. i never saw it finished that i recall but it was halarious. it was pretty funny that he was trying to do it...had tons of pics
-
There was also the thread on RC (I think) of the guy who started to build his new house and was suppose to turn his entire basement into a tank. Somewhere along the line, logic took over and he abandoned the idea.
-
maybe that was it??? was it in asia or the far east someplace?
-
I heard that you were going to get an Ocean King skimmer as well!!

I had started to follow that, but then a couple of the people got banned for some reason and then it kinda fell by the wayside.
-
Got banned??? NO! Say it isn't so!!!
;)
-

Thia can NOT be true!!! :o :o :o
-
well the tank has a light and some salt. Need to get more tomorrow LOL
-
For more light, just open the garage door ;)
-
Natural light! That's the best! ;D
-

Ya, you'd think that was an option, and that's what I told him, but noooooo he had to go hook up a chain to our garage door tracks and hang a 400wt. MH over the pool!!! I don't understand why we couldn't just open the garage door! He said it would get too hot.
-
Is the garage air conditioned?
-
no
-
ac unit probably cheaper than MH lighting, startup cost and monthly bill.
that place down south uses a greenhouse.
-
Well, he already had the light/ballast and compared to our $660 electric bill, it's probably not adding that much. We would have to keep the garage door up to let the light in...so that would make the a/c unit pointless.
-
indeed
