WTB: MAG5 or Comparable submersible pump.
« on: January 18, 2012, 16:39:34 »
As the title says, I am looking for a MAG5 or comparable submersible pump.  I have a Berlin Classic skimmer that I need to use but I don't have a spare Mag 5 around anymore.  If anyone has a pump for sale that has a barb for the airline on the pump, that would be the best!  Something 500 to 700 gph please!

If you can't find one, here is one with a needle wheel included. Should be an added amount of foam.
I think they sell just the needle wheel impellers as well. Might be worth a few extra bucks if you find a used mag 5

I might just have to go with this.  I haven't gotten any word from anyone with any pump comparable to what I need.

Not sure about one thing.  The skimmer has a venturi valve inside of the intake.  So if I got something like this that has a venturi adaptor on it... will it help out the skimmer, do nothing, or cause problems.  Not overly sure how that will effect the operation of the skimmer.  If needed I can always take the venturi valve out of the skimmer.  It screws right out of the intake of the skimmer so that isn't a problem.
