Title: Ops
Post by: REDPYRO on June 27, 2006, 13:17:18
Was filling the pond up this morning (well topping it off)  so i turned on the hole and stuck it in my little homemade filter box.  Just remembered to turn it off....like 3 hours later.  I only needed like 20 gallons.  Pond water is really clean now...i think i replaced it all...just overflowed over the edges...  Hope the fish live.  Will piss me off if they die.  I have had them for 2 year, and 1 winter

if you have an old air pump laying around, you may want to put it in the pond.  i left the hose on before (6 or 7 hours) and it killed the fish.  later found out that tapwater is very low in dissolved oxygen.

i have a waterfall that provides some surface obstruction and makes some bubbles so hopefully that will help.  seems to be ok so far

i have a waterfall too.  just watch the fish they will start sucking the top of the water if they run out of oxygen.
