shelby county

Winter storm watch now in effect from Tuesday morning through late Tuesday night,
The winter storm watch is now in effect from Tuesday morning through late Tuesday night.
A low pressure system will move out of the southern plains on monday and into the lower tennessee valley on Tuesday, and then into eastern kentucky by late Tuesday night. Abundant gulf moisture will be pulled north into the ohio valley on Monday night and Tuesday as the low passes to the south of the region late tuesday night. This track will bring primarily snow to the region.
The potential for snow will actually begin on Monday as a cold front drops south across the area. Some light accumulation is possible with this front. Further light accumulation is expected monday night associated with snow spreading out well ahead of the main storm system. Indications continue to show that accumulations on Monday and into Monday night would generally be 1 to 3 inches. However as the low moves through the tennessee valley, heavier snow will spread north, creating the potential for an additional 6 to 9 inches on Tuesday. Accumulating snow is likely to continue into Tuesday night as the storm moves off to the east. In addition, expect some blowing and drifting of snow to develop later Tuesday and Tuesday night as winds increase.
There still is some uncertainty with the track of the storm and thus how much snow will occur. So listen to noaa all hazards weather radio or other media for later updates on this situation.
Remember, a winter storm watch means conditions are favorable for hazardous winter weather in and close to the watch area.

Toledo...

It looks like the worst will be Tuesday - Wednesday

A disturbance will cause an inch or two of snow today, with isolated higher amounts across lower Michigan. This will exit this afternoon and evening, before the next system arrives.

***A WINTER STORM WATCH has been issued for tonight through Wednesday.***

A major winter storm will approach tonight, and cause periods of heavy snow Tuesday into Tuesday night. Light accumulations of a few inches are possible tonight, but snow could accumulate in excess of 6 inches Tuesday. Final storm totals by Wednesday morning appear to be in the 8 to 12 inch range, with some isolated higher amounts.

As with all winter storms, we will monitor and update the forecast as it approaches. For the most accurate forecasts, stay tuned to News 11 and wtol.com.

I'm thinking the same thing.  If the snow doesn't start until tomorrow morning I'm not sure what they will do about closing tomorrow.  What is your school saying?

They are saying the snow will start around midnight with 2-4" tonight and the rest tomorrow during the day.

We are under a heavy snow warning from 1AM tonight until 7AM wednesday morning.

I'm off work tonight and was really hoping I'd miss out on the "fun" but it doesn't appear that way now. I'll probably get called in early tomorrow night.
