We are organizing a Meeting at Newport Aquarium, Date is set for the 26th(Saturday) @ 11:30. Once you are in you are free to remain until closing(6:00pm)

Due to the nature of the group discount and the requirements set forth by the aquarium, We will require full payment no later than 3/30/14 @ 12:00am Est. You can Paypal the funds or provide cash/check.

As this is a club meeting; it is open to the public(including the ticket pricing). We welcome friends, family, neighbors, postmen, etc

Behind the Scenes tour:
$12.00 per person.
*We will need a minimum of 15 people, otherwise price per person will be distributed evenly amongst those requesting tickets. The Club BOD has decided to cover each existing Premium Member's Behind the Scenes Tour cost with corresponding General Admission purchase. Family members/friends/ and non PM members would need to be paid Separately.
**No one 2yr and Under is allowed on the BTS.


***The tickets are non-refundable, please only request tickets if you are sure you are able to make it.***

My son was diagnosed with autism and as we struggled to find something or anything that interested him we decided to take a family trip to Newport aquarium. The look on his face was priceless. We were so happy to finally find something that he showed interest in. So of course we got him his own aquarium and that's what sparked the fuel that got us into reef keeping!! Providing the schedule fits with the whole family we would love to attend this meeting!!!

Can do, I will create a spread tomorrow and get you out some info so you can make payment. But if we dont get many more, this may be a no go... we need atleast 15 to sign up for the bts tour or the full pricing would be divided amongst those who sign up.

I would love to, but have marine corps drill that weekend.  Only a little over a year left on my contract though, so I'll be able to show up to a lot more of these events before too long

If you want BTS and aren't listed as such on the spread please just post here and I will change.

As for order changes please post them here and I will update the spread as I see them.


In addition... The BOD has voted to cover the BTS ticket price for existing Premium Member's who also purchase an accompanying General Admission. Family members/Freinds/Non-Premium Members would still need to be paid separately.

We set a time just to allow us ease of coordinating the "meeting" plus get to meet faces etc...

The aquarium sets a time based off of group size, I don't think they will care with our group size if we set it earlier or if some show up before the bulk of the group. The only thing with that is, they tend to do the BTS as one group or a cluster of groups... so we would all have to be together most likely for that.

how early were you looking to get in? if those signed up don't mind we can move it up if preferred.

In the past we met outside said our "hey's" then after that it was all self guided however you wanted, then we met at the slotted times for the BTS, then went our separate ways.

The BTS I believe lasts 45min-1hr... and you have till close to tour the aquarium at your own pace... I personally have been multiple times but have never taken more than 4-5 hours... most the time people are done in 2-3 hours.

For those attending on Saturday, You will be meeting out in front of the aquarium entrance by the flagpole/Light pole area. Joe(Twizted1) will be on site @ 11:00am, Please look for him.

 The aquarium is expecting us around 11:30am, please be there and ready to enter around this time as Joe may have to pass out tickets. The normal meeting gift card raffle for premium members will be done prior to entering the Aquarium as it is self guided and some may leave before others or wish to spend more time at certain attractions so taking head count and doing everything prior to entering would be easiest.

The Aquarium has slated the Behind the Scenes tour for 12:00pm, you will be meeting in the lobby as one group for this. Please be sure to be there 10 minutes prior to start.

The aquarium is self guided, and expected to take between 2 and 2.5 hours to complete. You are free to stay as long or as little as you'd like. They will close at 6:00pm and admittance is good till then.

Please prepare for parking arrangements and possible need for change to get in and out of the lots as required.

 Garage clearance height is 8' 2" on the first level only; all other levels are 7' 2".

 CARS: The parking garage accommodates more than 400 cars; call Parking Solutions @ 859-291-4624 for current

rates. There is a 450-car overflow lot located at 4th and Columbia Street, 1.5 blocks away.

That is an amazing aquarium my sister used to live in Savannah and we took the family down to see her a couple years back and we visited the aqaurium on the way back. Was very cool... the main tank is absolutely huge, blows your mind to see the whale sharks.

Marine solutions is just a little ways north of there. I'm going thru dayton and gerbers is just south of dayton. Maybe a 45 drive from cinci.

if you do stop any where; Monfort pets is a decent place, aquatics and exotics sells ich and world of pets is a joke. aquatics and exotics is cool they have a huge shark tank like 20,000 gallons so it's neat to visit and they sell decently priced used equipment but you couldn't pay me enough to put their livestock in my tank. I've heard nothing but good things about ideal aquatics but can't speak for them personally.
