I am aware of the current issues with Tapatalk.   Tapatalk is aware of the problem, they posted a sort of patch to their support forums, and are working to resolve it.

No problem, but I'll work on tapatalk.  They said they would have a new release that fixes things in 7-10 days.

If you can’t be famous, might as well be infamous!  I’ve adjusted to using the site when Tapatalk isn’t Tapatalking.  😉

Still waiting for support to activate the admin account, but it looks like they changed the site link to https for us.

I do have to update the site plugin,  they just posted that today, so cross your fingers.....

The latest version of Tapatalk that was supposed to fix everything broke things even worse......  So in a waiting game, but things seem to be mostly working on Tapatalk.

Thanks for your efforts Paul. I’m not experiencing any problems with TT so far...

I tired to use TT to log into R2R today. Looks like they lost support as well.

That happened a couple months ago. They said TT was tracking user data. Really? They were tracking my username and actions on a forum... big deal lol. Do those people that made that decision use Facebook? Hmmm

Right now it’s mostly server errors.

Tapatalk is not what it used to be.....In general, the concern most admins has, is that Tapatalk opens up security vulnerabilities, as it has server level access, and it directly can send whatever it wants back to tapatalk.   It also can completely bypass admin level security.

Even though we have secured our site with https, I think all of the traffic in the app is not secure.  The app requests outer server to send data to Tapatalk over plain http connections.

I will probably have to wait for the next version of SMF, but as soon as I can get a reasonable mobile responsive theme, I’ll disable Tapatalk.

tapatalk takes away the personalization and forum features. Back in the day when the mobile phone was a small screen, under powered device with poorly supported browsers there was a need. But now days a mobile experience using the safari or chrome browser is the same as a PC/Laptop

Looks like they finally got it right.  Latest tapatalk plugin is installed, hopefully everything is working.
