Dosing Limewater Question
« on: March 24, 2022, 20:47:20 »
I have started dosing limewater in my ATO. It is currently dosing into the pump chamber which doesn?t have much agitation and I?ve developed a white layer on top.

Would I be better dosing into the same chamber as the overflow dumps into where there is tons of agitation?

That would be better all things being equal. I?d say as long as there?s plenty of flow that should work too.  Alternatively if you replace your ATO pump with a dosing pump such as the BRS pump that will allow you to put it in the low flow area.  The white film just means that your concentration was high enough to cause precipitation.  Also check your mag as low Mg will cause calcium carbonate precipitation

Thank you for the suggestions. I have moved it to the first chamber of my sump where the overflow dumps in. I will check my Mg. Last time I checked it was on the low side. I may need to get some and dose it.
