Hobbist frag swap
« on: January 13, 2023, 12:21:41 »
Working along with Patrick McMullen to potentially nail down a plan for a hobbist swap. Would the club be willing to assist with being the main host/sponsor who was previously involved with the past events? Would love to chat with whoever was able to get companies to donate items to raffle off, but if not, that?s not a deal breaker.

Not really planning on making this a huge event, but would love for it to grow into that.

Your welcome to organize a fragswap for Dayton and the club will finance the event. I added you to the fragswap committee board here.  https://ohioreef.com/index.php?board=76.0
There is a lot of good information from previous frag swap organizers. Anyone else that wants to join in with you let me know and I can grant them access
You don?t have to do a raffle. They can be a pain to setup and solicit donations. People come from the frags. But if you have a lot of time and help they can be fun for some

Thank you so much Brian! I?m really looking forward to get this going. Ideally I?d like to have it in the fall or early winter. But there?s so many details to iron out before I can commit to anything. I may try and put together a ?committee? and have a meeting somewhere soon. There?s a few people on the Dayton Ohio Saltwater and Reef FB page that say they are willing to assist.

Dustin and I just went and checked out 2 locations that could work. Is there anyone else active in the club that would like to assist with the event planning?

Main concern we are currently having is how much electrical consumption will we have with everyone?s tanks.

The swap is still being planned out. Working on layout along with supplying enough power for each vendor. Hoping to have it worked out very soon so we can begin taking table reservations!

Book your calendars for Saturday Sept 16! Save your lunch money up and grow those corals out! It?s going to be a good time!!
