Once upon a time all I did was ride. But things in life changed ALOT a few years back. Working on getting another bike.
I started out on my trusty 93' Katana 600. $1000 bike in a box. I spent the better part of winter (and my income) rebuilding the carbs, forkseals, and valve shims. Rode about 17,000 miles I think the first year. I sold it and purchased a Twin Turbo 300ZX that a trucker took from me on the highway.
Then I purchased a GS500. I never really learned how to ride fast in the corners on my Pig Katana. The GS is where I learned how to be fast, on a slow bike. I had SO much fun on this little bike its scary.
I sold the GS500 and purchased a 96' CBR 600F3. Learned to wheelie, took out second gear. Once again, heavy, unresponsive in the corners, it had to go...
My Last bike was an 05' Yamaha R6 Raven. Black on Flat Black. Handled incredible. Stupid fast bike. This is were I really started to shine in the corners, and fine tuned my throttle control. Out riding much more expirenced friends in the twisties. This is also the time when things started to get bad at home. I don't think I really cared as much as I should have, and thats how I rode so fast and hard. I rode it to Florida to see my dad once. 22 hours straight, stoping only for gas and food. My neck still hurts from time to time. But wow, just wow. When the bike was sold, it had 22,000 miles on it. In about 1 years time. If the road was dry, I was on the bike. Even when it was below freezing out.
Thru the years I learned alot. Several head injuries (with Shoei hletmets), broken fingers, one thumb, and my right wrist. I still can't wait to get back on a bike. Hopefully this Spring.
But which bike?!? I have rode the big bikes, an 05' R1, a heavily modifed ZX-12R (OMG). But I never liked how heavy and long the big bikes are. Too slow in the corners. I think a GSX-R750 would be perfect...
