Aquatic Specialist
« on: December 12, 2009, 19:14:08 »
I visited Aquatic Specialist tonight to check it out, and pick up a cuc for the nano and i must say i liked it ,a lot. they are very down to earth and knowledgeable and the stock was very nice, prices where great also, by far better than the local branch stores in every way even in price with a 30 min drive . i would highly recommend checking them out if you have not all ready, and look forward to seeing you both again. I am still acclimating the cuc as i type this, they the first tank mates will be added soon. ty

I have to agree with you.  They have always been great.  They have also been able to get any of the stranger things I have asked for.  They were the only store that actually got me the Achilles Tang I have been looking for.  If you haven't been there I would also recommend going.  If you need something PM them (Duane & Justin).  I've been asking for a lot of stuff lately.  They have been quick to get me a price.  Sorry to sound like a advertisment.   It's the store I like not the people that work there.  :)

I have nothing but good things to say about them. Everytime I'm in there, I pick up some extra pods and feeder shrimp. They have a decent amount of corals, salt water fish and (hate to say it....) freshwater fish in stock. They always have good specials and some of them you actually have to be in the shop to see them. I plan on stopping in sometime this week to pick up some cuc (and the pods and shrimp). Keep up the good work guys!

I picked up a nice power blue tang today for a great price.  The fish was in great condition and started eating within minutes of being in the tank.  I will be back for more.

I picked up a BEAUTIFUL flowerpot coral last week, and this thing is huge. I was amazed at the price, and amazed at the quality. I will definately try to make it up there more often as well.

If it is ok, I will post a picture of it on this thread, just to show the quality. It is awesome.

The people who own, or work there is what makes the store. without them there would be no store. it sounds like you use them like an online store, witch is fine but i am post in the  Vendor Forums > Experiences > "Local Fish Stores" so that others can learn as i did about this store and would rather you keep any negative remarks for your own threads.

and yes jp plz do share the pic

I think Steve's humor got lost in translation. He was trying to joke with shop owners.  ;)  There was no negative intent implied

Negative or positive intent in a joking manner doesn't matter.  Some words are just not appropriate for this forum.

+1 on the good service.

I can't tell you how many LFS I wandered around in, in the past, waiting...waiting....waiting for someone to ask if they could help me.  It rarely happened.  I used to think it was because I was a woman in a male-dominated hobby, because it also used to happen in computer stores (yeah, I'm a computer tech, too )

Jason has gone so far as to call my house to make sure something went right or to answer a forum question when I was offline.

I run a retail internet store myself, and I value good customer service because I knock myself out to give it to my own customers.

Everything I've gotten at AS has thrived in my tank which is also a good sign.  Two thumbs up to Justin and Duane.
