Coral Propagation Supplies for Frag Swap
« on: June 02, 2009, 03:53:00 »
With our frag swap just around the corner it is the perfect time to start propagating your live stock you would like to trade or sell. Doing so now will give your corals time to begin the healing process in your reef and increase the likely hood of success in the buyers tank.

I am working with Oceans Wonders a coral propagation tool supplier to organize a group buy for the club. Hope to have the discounts worked out over the next couple of days and will publish details here.

Here is the web-site http://www.oceanswonders.com/home.html

If you are need of containers to transport the live stock check out Gordon's Food Service. You can get styrofoam or clear plastic see through cup's and lids in bulk for a very reasonable cost.

oceanswonders got back with me on the discount amount; it is a flat 20% off the order. I will cover shipping costs. Just post up what you want here and I will order Wednesday night. You can pay me when you pick up or through paypal but there is a small transaction fee charged by paypal. There are two pickup locations. My house in Huber or my work in Miamisburg behind the Dayton Mall.

I was surprised to see that there has been no interest as of yet on this group buy. Just curious what everyone is using for propagation for the frag swap. Making your own plugs or using rubble rock? Or are there cheaper plugs somewhere that I don't know about? Let me know please.

I'll get a few tools.  But I don't have much to frag yet.  I'll send you a PM

I make my own frag plugs...and just use dykes, toenail clippers (not used ones!), tweezers, etc that are available from local stores.

When are you planning to order?  Might help to put a deadline on the order.

Good find.  I had never seen or heard of these guys before. I am gong to place an order as soon as I get some pricing back from them, I am getting a couple of thousand plugs.

If anyone wants to piggy back off my order, I will pick up the shipping costs.

How long did it take them to get back to you once you emailed them?  I shot them one yesterday, then another this morning.  I have heard nothing from them so far!

They are a little slow in response but they will respond.
