Adding rock

Added a piece of rock to my tank today to start seeding it. Rock was previously live, and has been out of a tank and dry for around 9 months in my garage. I read a bunch of people’s responses on a Facebook page and getting mixed replies. Will this cause any issues?

Depends. If it has a bunch of leftover dead organic matter then it could cause a nutrient issue in the tank.
