Title: Velvet Questions
Post by: ohioreef on February 13, 2021, 13:28:24
I just lost a YT to, what I'm pretty sure was, velvet. I have two clowns remaining in the tank that have never shown any signs of velvet.

I've done a lot of reading and understand the life cycle and know the treatment to rid a tank is to allow it to remain fishless for several weeks.

If my clowns never "host" the parasite, would letting the tank go with just the clowns for several weeks rid the tank of velvet? Or can the clowns host the parasite without showing signs?

Anyone have any experience with Polyp Labs Medic? I'm currently dosing that and plan on continuing to dose until the bottle is gone.

Thanks,

Gary

I’ve used it before with inconsistent results. It seemed to work better with higher doses. I can’t remember exactly how high.

I'm dosing at 2x normal dose.
