Frogspawn are an excellent starter coral if you know your basics. I have found that clownfish, without an anemone in the tank, will host something such as a powerhead or other random place in the tank. I had some that eventually hosted some pulsing xenia. Now mine just hides back in the rock at night.
It is very doubtful that your clown will hop into the frogspawn, it could take months or simply never happen. Also, it depends if you clown is wild or bred. I hear that the wild ones will host corals more readily - I am unsure of the accuracy of this statement.
To keep frogspawn you do not need a ton of lighting, although, calcium and alkalinity levels will need to be maintained for good health and growth. They are fairly delicate and prefer low flow. Also, if the fleshy end of the skeleton gets smashed or touched too roughly it can do serious damage. When moving them around it is good practice to turn off all flow, pick up the coral from somewhere you have a good grip on (they get slimy) and gently shake it. This removes the water from the tissue making it easier to move around and out of the tank if necessary.
