Title: Saltwater Ich
Post by: ohioreef on February 19, 2007, 15:43:30
(there is no such thing as Ich in salt water)

Hey Joel, not meaning any disrespect, but could you clarify that? I have read "tons" about "ich" in saltwater fish.

I would also like to here this. Cryptocaryoniasis - "marine ich". Better known as Cryptocaryon irritans. I am also confused Gary.

Ich is short for Ichthyophthirium Multifilis (sp?)which is a freshwater parasite.

Some of the parasites in our saltwater aquariums look similar and are often generically referred to as ich but are not Ichthyophthirium Multifilis.
