65 Gallon Build
« on: October 29, 2013, 23:00:25 »
After lost my 55 gallon reef tank I took a break, but now I'm back.  I couldn't stay away any longer.  I toyed around with what size to get.  I didn't want to redo the 55.   So far here is my list of good.

65 gallon drilled w/ stand & canopy
20 gallon sump
odyssea wp-700
Aqua Euro USA Protein Skimmer 250
250w halide w/ 2 39w t5's
JBJ ATO
300w heater with digital control
RODI unit

Not sure what type of koralia pumps or something that may be better.

My plan is to do soft coral and stock wise blue/green chromis, one spot foxface or tomini tang, watchman goby, pair of clowns..  I thought about doing a small hippo instead of one of the other and once it reached size donate it to the columbus zoo & aquarium - might be a dumb idea.

I do need to paint the back, either stain or paint the wood.  Also need to tear down my 55 freshwater tank.

Just an idea for the stand and canopy. My wife used crackle paint. It turned out pretty good.

I started painting the back of the tank black.  Bought some Krylon acrylic latex paint in gloss and will be painting the stand and canopy as well.
