Title: Alvepora help
Post by: Swindec on February 04, 2021, 21:18:18
I have an alvepora that has been mostly closed for several weeks use to stretch way out and now just opens a little sometimes may stretch a few tubes out an inch or so. I’ve read that they can be hard to keep but this one seemed happy fo a long time. Also read that crabs or pest might get in and cause this. Any ideas? Should I dip it? If so should I dip in peroxide? How much and for how long?

Is the 1st pic when you say it is closed up. Actually looks pretty good to me. have you changed lights or increased light output recently? I have seen my emerald crabs pic at my red Goni, but it never caused them to close up long term or have any real negative effect on them.

First pic is from last night. Second pic is several months ago. Lots of changes in-between. I've changed lighting and added mp40's since then but even after those changes it opened more than it is now.
