reflectors... the dog test
« on: September 13, 2006, 18:52:20 »
So today my luminarc III reflectors arrived today & I ordered 2 large ones for my FO tank.  So I yanked the spider reflector & sat it next to the luminarc & Bart instantly could tell the difference.  I really am not sure which one he prefers because with the luminarc he sees white spots all over the ceiling & it drives him CRAZY!!!!  That's with only normal outdoor room lighting vs the spider you really see nothing.

For the fish tank, I cannot beleive how much more light it throws to the tank... quite impressive!!!!

Told you so!!  And you don't have that annoying light in the eyes either.  :D :D   Time for some coral!

I really forget where I ordered them from, Reef something.....

I purchased 4 for myself & 1 for Verper however I am debating on selling the 2 extra ones that I have.  If interested PM me & possibly we can work something out.

I think they are usually $120 ish each + shipping

They are SE, I think they just recently came out with the DE version if that is what you are looking for.

like Verper states, they are SE

I really am not sure what I want to do.  A friend is giving me a 90g FO tank & I cannot decide if I want to set it up which I am 90% sure that I will.  Then it's if I want FO or reef & I am leaning towards a reef tank.  If I do the reef I will keep the reflectors otherwise I do not want that much light on that size FO tank.

If I do not sell them I can order them in for you & I can get you wholesale prices.  They would be $95-100 ea plus shipping which would be a additional $30 ish.

I think normal mail order is $120-130 ea + shipping

yea.... I know..... :)

I have a reef tank at work/parents house & I was planning on using the reflectors there.  However my mom is happy with how it looks now & is worried the new lights would affect the balance..... whatever.... :)

My other problem is that reef tanks are not cheap to do right & well.... I am broke..... :(

I dunno....

It could be set up for a reef tank and then slowly add coral etc.  Nothing says you have to do it all right now.  ;D

yea.... I wouldn't do it all at once but still it wouldn't be cheap to get it running

this is what I am getting from a friend

90g/stand
cin clown, scopas tan, val. puffer
wet/dry with eheim pumps
rocks/grave

what I have
icecap 175w mh & luminarcs

would I need
skimmer probably make one since I have a extra needlewheel pump
I would make a fuge & I have a PC light for it
possibly larger circulation pump

U know..... you are all not helping at all :)
