increasing sand bed in established tank???

I have removed my centerpiece rock and now need to bring sand level up a couple inches in that area.

Is it OK to add a new bag of live sand or will it throw water out of balance and cause unforeseen problems?     :hmmmm:

Most say add a little bit every couple days so it doesn't suffocate what is already there. I am a bit less cautious and would likely just dump some in but I run a fairly shallow sand bed anyway. If there is no sand where you are adding it or less then a inch just dump it in Ray.

I'd recommend a tube (I use PVC) and put it in the tank all the way to the bottom and other end out the top of tank.  I add the sand in through the PVC and this cuts way down on the dust, cloudiness throughout your tank.
Good luck.
Thanks and God Bless,
John

Well it been in there 4 five days and all looks well.
Put in whole bag at once; just filled the depression where big rock sat.

Appreciate all input!

Thanks, Ray
