AFMC's Freedom Call Tattoo - Jun 24th
« on: June 23, 2011, 13:00:05 »

The seventh annual Freedom's Call 2011 on Friday, June 24, will recognize the contributions of our military veterans, their families and all Americans who support them with a spectacular presentation of flyovers, music, narration and fireworks. The Air Force Materiel Command Tattoo is an annual event hosted by AFMC and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. The free show highlights Air Force Airmen and capabilities and is designed to strengthen bonds with neighboring communities.

We will be there again this year. It was a good time last year with a ton of fly overs.

I live across the street (Harshman), and have a amazing view. I usually attend for a little while and watch the fireworks from my air conditioned living room. Take a look at all of the orange fencing, my shop is responsible for driving and hanging that every year! Boy does it suck!

It is a reall good time for younger ones. Take some earplugs for your munchkins, the planes can be frighteningly loud.

I've got the softer style of earplugs I get from work, if you would like I can grab a handful? Just call me and we can meet somewhere on the flight line.

There are three entrances, one on Harshman road, colonel glenn, and if you have a base id you can go in gate 22B. You pretty much park in the grass. Oh wait you can come in the museum entrance as well.

Yes it is an airshow, with fireworks etc. It's pretty neat you should check it out!

not really an "airshow".  Yes they have some flybys, but nothing spectacular, just whatever planes they can get that scheduled to fly that day.  Usually a lot of no shows.  B2, B1, F15 were no shows this year.

Basicly there is a big stage with a local opening band, there are tons of little "fair-like" food buildings.  So you can get your deep fried oreos and all. :)

Then they usually have the air force band of flight play some scores dedicated to something.  This year they highlighted the 10 year anivesary of 9-11.  This is when the flyovers happen.

Then the General comes out and they do a few award presentations (bronze stars, etc) and usually does a swearing in of some new enlisties.

When all that is over its around 9pm and they get an older well known band to play.  Past years have had 38-special, charlie daniels, aaron tippon, and Lonestar this year.

The night ends with fireworks and 45 mins of waiting to get out of the parking lot :)

Its a fun event the base puts on to give back to the community.
75G Mixed Reef w/ 30G sump/refuge

Electrical Engineers do it on impulse, with faster rise times, with more power, and less resistance at higher frequencies, without shorts, until it Hertz

Ummm, we waited 1 1/2 HOURS to get out of the parking lot!!!

We ended up going at the last minute.  It was fun!  My Gandson LOVED the fly by's and of course we all loved the fireworks that were in sync with the music!  But getting out was terrible!!!  Over all GREAT NIGHT! :D

Gary Lee and his girlfriend went down. Not only did it take forever for him to get out, but they wouldn't let them go back towards Harshman. He had to go all the way to 675 and around Robin Hood's barn to get home.
