Saltwater Aquarium Newbie
« on: February 19, 2012, 20:25:24 »
Hi,

Our names are Kenn and Mary Sanchez. We just started our SW aquarium yesterday. My wife already has experience with FW fish and aquariums. I myself (Kenny)  am fairly new.

If anyone has any ideas for me, please feel free to contact us.

Thanks
Kenny and Mary Sanchez

Hi,

we have a 55 gallon tank and what we wanna do they start off with fish only no coral or anything like that. We want to start as basic as possible. Damsels are what we are planning to start with.

what kind of substrate (sand etc for the bottom)
what type of decorations (live rock? fake rock? etc)
what type of lighting do you have?

Here is the info:

what type of filtration are you going to use?   I am planning to use live rocks, and a power filter.  I actually have an AQUA-Tech 30-60 and a Aqueon QuietFlow 30

what kind of substrate (sand etc for the bottom) I have a mix of gravel and sand substrate about and inch high.

what type of decorations (live rock? fake rock? etc) Two Live Rock and some ornamental rock like two fake lava and several Lace Rock.

what type of lighting do you have? I cannot remember the name but it came with my 55g Kit by Aqueon.

what type of equipment do you have (testers, heaters, ro filter etc) Kent Hydrometer, and an Aqueon Submersible heater.

Do you recommend anything else?

THanks,
Kenneth Sanchez /Beginner Aqua Enthusiast

In this hobby patience is everything. Your always waiting on something to cycle or the money for more equipment, corals, etc.   ;D
