Slow down, I just got them put in my tank!!
Got me coral beauty, bicolor blennie, copperband, sixline and 800 gallon of salt mix. All doing good so far.
1.5 hour drive one way was worth it, unbeatable prices and great stock. Unable to get to alot of the meetings since most are in Dayton area, to win sponsers gift certificates.
I really appreciate these specials since saltwater stores in my area are slim to none and the ones that are have high prices.
Thanks again Joel!! :-ThumbUpsm

I'd take some pics, but I only picked up 4 chromis', which i think either the 1 large Chromis i've had for what seems like forever, or the Niger Trigger, or the Female Clown pretty much beat up until the became a $10 snack for my green brittle star... haha.  i thought I'd help the Chromis get some friends but i guess he likes being an individual??   :th_taptaptap_sml:

I did also get a sand sifting star, but he's underground, and a Orange Diamond Goby, but he unfortunately jumped into the overflow so i now have to fish him out of there... haha

chromis are weird... they often die off in the first week, but if they make it a week, they usually last years...

It is a Moorish Idol. Common fish but not seen often in captivity due to low survival rate.

Ken I am a long way from running out of room. Went from a 55g to a 125g, two 75g and a 50g all connected together.

Brian, good luck with the Moorish Idol.  I've read that the success rate is limited.  Beautiful creature.

I got one of the two to eat. It is eating formula one which seems to be predominantly brine shrimp. Also feeding Spectrum Pellets, Formula two, sponges and a few other things but only eating formula one right now.

Good news and bad. The moorish idol that has learned to eat prepared foods is now a absolute hog and has noticeably put on weight. It is eating everything including coraline algae, brine shrimp, flake food, spectrum pellets, rods food pretty much anything I give it. He shits when I walk in the room excited for a meal.

The bad news is I got Impatcient and started slowly bringing salinity back up in quarntine tank before the full 6 week cycle. Too soon. Moorish idol shows what looks like a bit of ick last night so now I have to go another 6 weeks in Quarntine. Sigh

I don't think I've ever got that excited...  Good that he's eating.

Contrary to the Moorish Idol's reputation, I have had pretty good luck with them several times.

They are pigs and can be taught to eat just about anything. They also can be really aggressive. They look all graceful but often are down right mean!!!

Sorry to hear about parasite issue Brian, but it sounds like you got it under control. This is the season for parasite issues though. Glad to hear it's eating so well, that is great news!!
