Looks like a really nice quality stand and canopy. The birdsnest seems to be getting some better color since I was out last.

ok well after still getting more and more hair algae i have added 10 hermits and tested the water, the water is where it should be, i have shortened my lights to 8 hours and i am skimming wet, all i can think of is the new reflectors, where as before i never really had any. so hopefully the crabs will take car of some of it.

great looking tank. Love the stand and canopy. Wish you luck with the hair algae. Manual removal and scrubbing the rocks out of the tank always worked for me. Let us know what works for you!

I imagine when you switched tanks you killed a lot of the bacteria in your sand bed so its gonna take some time to build the bacteria back up
If you didn't know I'm kind of a big deal...

bacterial supplements do exist but their usefulness are highly questionable.

A better option to supplement micro organisms would be to get a few cups of sand from someones aquarium and put a light dusting of it over the sand in your tank & sump. Makes certain that who ever you get the sand from has a healthy aquarium with no active nuisance issues going on (parasites, cyano, high nitrate / phosphate, etc.)
