Meeting Date: Sunday May 23rd
Meeting Time: 1:00 PM
Hosted by: Cyberwolf
Meeting Type: BBQ, Outside Games and DIY Moon Lighting
Directions: To obtain directions post up that you will be attending in this thread and Cyberwolf will PM you directions
Well looks like awhile back I volunteered to host the May meeting ;D
The first weekend is mothers day weekend, and the last weekend is the 4 day weekend (and I have Indy500 tickets ) so the meeting will be 22 or 23 (I know some folks prefer Sunday afternoons). Please vote for both if you could go either day.
Also, let me know if this is another holiday or fragswap or something that weekend and We can change it.
-
Cool! I am vary excited! I will sea you gyes there!
-
My original plan was to smoke some ribs and ask everyone to bring a side (optional of course), but I want to see how many plan to attend before I commit the money ;D
I know we had a HUGE amount of interest in the DIY LED Moonlight thread, so This seems like a perfect time to knock some out. I just ordered a few LEDs for METZCOOL for his March madness bracket prize. Josh could bring over a 2nd Soldering Iron and we could knock a bunch of sets out quick.
So, Please post up if you would like a DIY set of LEDs and will be at the meeting (date still TDB, so this maybe a little premature ;D) I would ask you find an old cellphone charger or some other kind of dc wallwart adapter. Also post up the output voltage (it says on the back, should be 5-12v DC) so I'll know what kind of resistors to buy. Should run you less than $5 to make a set, I'll have to double check the price once we know how many we want to make.
-
Ill be there.
-
same here

If you need a hand, my iron is getting a bit old, just waiting to be used.

We will both be there unless Christy has to work

I'll prolly still be hung over, but I'll be there. Yay Saturday birthdays.

1 sounds good to me

That sounds great Wes them ribs sure are going to taste good ;)

Please post up if you are coming, and how many. Also note if you would like to make some DIY LED moonlights. They will cost around $5 to make (assuming you bring your own old cellphone charger or other AC adaptor)
Hopefully cooking ribs if I can find them on sale and it doesnt break the bank :) You can bring a side, but of course not required. I have the tank skinned, but not stained. And, seeing how I'm in California this weekend, FL this weekend (to see the shuttle launch, only 3 launches LEFT!), and back out to California next week, Im sure the tank wont get the finishing touches and will be kinda dirty, but oh well. We'll have fun. Anyone have cornhole or other backyard games to bring?

Sure you can come. If you would have posted this about 30 mins ago i could have got you LEDs. If you goto Radioshack or something and pickup some "ultrabright" blue LEDs, and bring an AC adaptor, Im sure we can hook you up with wire and resistors for a few bucks
-
I cna build a power supply. If you wire them for 5V. Give me the required amperage. Thats sweet though.
-
Wes, will this adapter work?
http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=129-106 (http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=129-106)
If so, I'll have my wife pick it up for me (she works there)

Dont buy one. It just needs to be any old cell phone charger, or old printer adaptor, or any kind of wall wart. Im sure I/someone can find you a free one at their house.

No need to build one, we are litterially only talking about a little over hundred milliamps. Super small amp draw

Got the ribs and chicken seasoned and waiting in the fridge! Weather looks good, no rain and warm. See everyone tomorrow. If you have a chair that you can conveniently bring that would be great. We will have a few but probably not enough if everyone is sitting at once.
