Oct/Nov meeting

Has anyone voluntered for the oct/nov meeting?  I am up for hosting it on Saturday Nov 1 however it's more of a haloween party then a reef club thing.  We just decided to hold another haloween party (been 5yrs since our last one) & I figured it would be great if anyone from the club could come.

Theme is Jungle/Indiana Jones & costumes are NOT mandatory, just suggested    People of ALL ages are welcome & it is more of a kid friendly theme then what we have done in the past (we will leave out the blood stuff).  However, there will be 2 kegs of beer & people do not get trashed.  We will have a dance/music area, maze (totally dark), food/snacks, campfire & possiblly rides behind a tracktor (not sure if it's running). 

Location is in Centerville OH directly across the street from Ethan Allen Furniture.  I can post my addy if there is interest or just shoot me a PM.

I guarantee, you will have a GREAT time..... we expect 200+ people this time

O yea, you are also more then welcome to bring a tent & camp out in the yard.  Plenty of room.....

There are a couple of regional frags swaps coming up.

Oct 18 is CincyReef's (Cincinnati) and Nov 1 is CORA's (Columbus)

I'm going to try to make both.  I think the CORA won't be a problem, but I don't know if I got my request in on time for the 18th off or not.

Just a little FYI

It looks like the date of Nov 1 is going to be changed & moved a week earlier to Oct 25th

I prefer the 1st but my brothers wife isn't to happy about that day since it's their anniversary.  O well.....

Hopefully tomorrow I will know for sure what day it will be held & all that stuff.

yea, it's official.... the party is on the 25th & NOT Nov 1

I also had 2 other parties to go to on the 25th but unfortunantly that is the only weekend that works for some of the other people involved.  Hopefully most of you can still make it

If you know where Sam's wholesale club or Saturn of Dayton is, we are about 1/2 mi east of those facilities on the opposite side of the road.  Like I mentioned before, anyone of all ages are more then welcome to attend however there will be alcohol there.  We will also be providing food/snacks

I think to kick start the new year and celebrate the elections one of the officers should host this month.

Scott and I have already hosted this year.  I think it would be best for a newbie to host.  Newbies, this is a great time to have seasoned vets over to help with any sort of problem you're having on your tank, to get advice, and basically have people oooh and ahhhh over your tank.

The ohhing and ahhing and advice from the SR. Members is tempting. I would love to host a meeting being a noob and all but only have room for about 10 people and heard that Quicksilver's meeting had over 30 people. Additionally since I have never seen how the meetings go would prefer to go to a couple before considering hosting so I know what to expect. Is there anyone else out there that would consider hosting the November meeting?

Quicksilver's meeting was out of the norm.  We normally have about 7-12 people at each meeting I'd say.  I don't think Quicksilver's meeting was quite 30 people either (I definitely don't remember writing that many raffle tickets out.) 

Anyway, bump for November...or we'll wait to do a combined Dec. meeting.
