RIP Jacques
« on: May 30, 2006, 15:59:37 »
For an unknown reason my skunk cleaner died overnight. I saw him just laying on the sand last night and was afraid that I'd find him deceased this morning.

Any suggestions on what I should be looking/testing for? (other than the normal ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, etc)

Gary, I don't know if you remember or not, but the same thing happened to me a while back. I think Rick found an atricle that said they have a short life span.  So basically mine died of old age.  Ever since that time I made sure to buy the samllese clearers I could find.

I also had a weird one happen. I had 2 cleaners in my 40 gallon. I decided to mve them to my 125.  within a few minutes of moving them 1 died!  The other is doing fine as is the 2 that was already in there. All I can think of is I scared it to death when I netted it for the move...

I had forgotten that you had one die recently. I had had him since Mar 05.
