aquavista99,

I don't want to hijack, but what solution do you dip your corals in?

I use a coral dip product that attacks RTN before placing any new SPS corals into my aquariums. The product I use is called  ReefPure Coral Dip & Conditioner, which attacks RTN By Warner Marine Research.

If RTN is detected in any specimen in the display aquarium, it should be removed from the tank as soon as possible to avoid further RTN reactions in healthy corals.

okay, I'm convinced the need of QT.

now, being more specific and practical,
say I set up a QT with my 10g tank, making it simple and basic.
I could take water from the main tank.
I would need a heater.
Do I need a protein skimmer or PH?
10% weekly water change?
anything else?

I don't have to keep it running all the time. just when I get new fish?
How about new corals? Can they carry disease?

too much to learn....
the book is on the way... ::)

CrownSushi- I attached a link to a website for you that provides pictures and advice on how to set up a QT etc.
