hermit crabs

What will happen if a hermit crab could find a suitable (large enough) shell?

One of big hermits comes to the changing station
(where I put all the empty shells together, so that I can watch them changing their cloth....hope it's not called a pervert)
She keeps on trying different shells...but there's none she likes...cuz she wears the biggest one...
Will she die?

well....maybe I should buy her some new cloth before asking such a stupid question....

It'll look for one that it can steal from a snail or other hermit if none are available.
