A saltwater only store would be near impossible to keep open now of days unless you did 60% online. Normally Freshwater sales at a retails stores top Saltwater by far. You have to account for DOA fish, Fish people bring back dead, shipping cost, eqipment cost, water cost, salt cost, lighting cost, it all adds up. Now I can see why places like Gerbers has to charge so much for their fish. Retail stores can charge less cause they are also selling other items to pay the bills. In reality when I go into a store and they have a 2" blue hippo tang for $50, people will complain all day about that being so high of a price. You go out to the pacific ocean, net up the fish, ship it to the US, ship it to the store, and than wonder why the prices are what they are. I think if anything most stores don't charge enough for their fish.
