phosban reactor

just a quick question for those who run them.  I just hooked mine up today and I noticed that some of the media has drained into the sump.  Is there a remedy for this?

I knocked the through put of water down to about 100 gph and it still appears some are falling out.  Let me know what you think.

Travis, where is it coming out of?  The media shouldn't be moving much at all.  You want a slwo flow so it can do it's job.

It's coming out of the discharge tube, I may just have to keep adjusting the flow until I find the right setting.

That's what it sounds like to me.  You really don't want much flow at all.

When I was running mine I had the flow set so that the top layer was just barely tumbling. 100gph sounds like too much flow to me.

100 gph is the max allowed flow I believe.

Also, just check to make sure you have the foam filters installed properly.  I didn't the first time  ::)

We change ours every month when we do a water change.  WE also change the carbon every month as well.

I use ROWA-phos and I can go 2-4 months as long as I have no detectable phosphates.

If we go over 5 weeks the phosban becomes like a "R"ock.
