Return Pump Brand/Model
« on: February 06, 2017, 15:29:07 »
I am going to be setting up a new tank soon, and wanted to ask everyone what return pump they are using, how long theyve used it for, how quiet it is, etc...

I've used a Mag 9.5 on my tank for the past 2 years and have loved it, I have a Jebao DCT on my frag system which seems to do a good job as well.

Let me know what you use!!!

Are you talking in sump return pump or an external?

If you are talking internal, I have a Eheim 1262 that's been up and running for over a year now.  It's strong enough to push water 6ft above ground level.  No issues what so ever.  I don't even know it's running unless I open the sump area to look at it.
I did buy a new one a month or so ago, just so I have a back up in case this one fails.  Hopefully I won't need it anytime soon.

If you are wanting external pump recommendations, I've got nothing.  Never dealt with an external pump. sorry

AJ,
I have used multiple sizes of the Eheim pumps for over 3 years and never had any problems with them.  Very quiet.  Using the 3000 on my display and frag tanks.  Also using the 300 on my ATO's.

If you want variable speed, The RLSS Waveline pumps are solid too, I have a 4000 that has been running for a few years without issue.
