The good news with our new house is it is air tight and we haven't really needed a heater until last night. The bad news is the PH on my system dropped to 7.5. I assume this is only going to get worse as time goes on.
Tank Levels:
Calcium: 430 ppm
Alkalinity 9 dkh
Magnesium 1290 ppm
Additives:
Equal BRS 2 part controlled with Apex.
Cause: Increased levels of Carbon Dioxide in the house.
Result: Could cause corals with bones to not grow and deteriorate.
Fix: Increase fresh air to the room, and or tank.
The only option I can find is to use a buffer which I don't want to do or run the skimmer airline outside. The house being air tight isn't a bad thing and I would rather not put anymore holes in the floor.
What are the thoughts on adding plants to the room? Will this do enough to make a difference or not?
any input or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
