Title: 2 part dosing / chloride build up
Post by: Steve on June 12, 2014, 21:48:42
Alright some of you chemists. I have wondered about this because the calcium and magnesium we dose has chloride in it. Is there any negative effects to chloride build up? Do corals utilize it at all? If it builds up how do we reduce it? I have read about water changes, but if you have build up in the whole system and do between 15% and 30% of the total volume in a water change, is this really effective?

Read this.   http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2006-02/rhf/index.php (http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2006-02/rhf/index.php)

Sulfate is the only one that is a concern..........and that is a water change mitigation.
