Has anyone tryed to make it? If my late x-mass wishes come true ill be building a nice big tank and i may make some diy rock to use as a base.
-
yes I have made a few hundred pounds
-
Scott would you mind sharing how you did it? Is it a PIA?
-
There used to be a link with pictures of a "rock making" get together at Scott's place I think. I believe it had some pointers about making them too.
Might have been on the old site.
-
Yep on the old site...
-
Sounds like a good topic for an internal page on the site. Scott, if you want to write something up, complete with pics, in Word, I'll create a seperate page on the site for it.
-
Cool!
-
You can also get this information on the G.A.R.F. website.
-
Dave what is the website? I'm not finding it on a search
-
Its called GARF. I'll see if I can post a link.
-
Try typing garf.org in your address bar.
-
Its a pretty good site. They have alot of info, and howto stuff.
-
Thanks Dave I think I have it now.
-
Not a problem. :)

especially the one impaled on PVC and the clam shell :) I will dig up my info on making the rock. It is pretty easy you just have to get the right feel for what you are doing.
-
Cool, thamks Scott!
-
I would like to do a totally DIY tank setup, and knowing how to do the rock would be a great help. Thanks again Scott for sharing.
-
I would love to make the rock but it takes soooooo long to cure and be ready for use. :(
-
2 months goes buy fast
-
scott, how did you make yours? I read where guys are useing co2 to help speed the process. A few guys have claimed it was ready in 2 weeks. The plan the wife and i have for building a larg tank is almost finished. We will get some more prices tomorrow and decide if we are going to build it. We wont start on it untill we get our income taxs back ao we have plenty of time to let it cure

Agreed, especially in the terms of sw. Living in an apartment also makes it difficult to make and cure it though. Thats where the 2 months can hurt. Thought about selling my shelldweller stock and converting that 55 into a sw frag tank.
