Well I decided to build my frag tank light stand this afternoon. It was really easy to build and only cost around $30 (not counting the bulbs). I recently bought a pair of ecoxotic par38 led (12000K) lights. I think these will work great over my 20L.
Just bought two 5' sticks of 1/2" conduit, a couple of 90deg elbows, a couple of adapters, some bulb ends, some 2 bolt straps, some wire and two plug ends.
I held the bulbs above the tank to see where I wanted them to hang (about 12" above tank) Then I just centered them and got to work.

Now just have to take them down and paint them flat black.

Looks good. A little ingenuity goes a long way. I think they look as is.
-
They look good without paint. Little rustic, and industrialized looking. Good job!

Looks great
