Title: black algae on sand

I have black algae on the top of the sand what is it from. I sterd it up but just came back stronger.

Could be cyno? Red to brownish? Your best bet is to use the algae guide on the front page.

Make sure it isn't hydrogen sulfide, too. Likely only the case if your sand bed got disturbed, but can cause SERIOUS problems if it is.
