My yellow tang started having a glazed eye about 2 days ago. Don't know if he scraped it or is this a disease. Can anyone offer up some thoughts?(https://ohioreef.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fuploads.tapatalk-cdn.com%2F20160219%2Fa54dcc00e76323906879c15ee66a7e9a.jpg&hash=2056f6fc8de5dcd77cb48c757e84a1e7132326d1)

Could be Popeye or some other infection. Sometimes these things heal themselves, sometimes not. Can you get it out and quarantine it?

I'm afraid I can't. I don't have a qt tank. I'm really hoping he heals up. He is active and eating

I have a Blue Sided Fairy Wrasse I have had for years. Right after I bought it it developed popeye. Eventually it lost sight in that eye but the infection went away. I knew it was blind because it always turned in 1 direction when feeding. Within the last 2 months I noticed it is now turning in both directions, seems as if it's sight has been restored.

Normally an issue in just one eye is a mechanical issue, and diseases or similar affect both eyes, in my experience. In that case good water quality and quality feeding are your best weapons. Be on the lookout for secondary infections.

Would something like Selcon or Garlic help in fighting the infection?

can I just use some minced garlic juice to soak food or do I need something special?

Never tried that but found this which makes me think it would be fine if the ingredients are just garlic and water

Great! Thanks Muttley000. His other eye is starting to look cloudy and the original bad one is looking a bit better. He is swimming, eating, and active

Update. One eye is just fine. The bad one seems to be getting better slowly. Just been soaking seaweed in vitamins. He poked around for pellets last night. Still very active and social

Well, Goliath, my yellow tang is looking good. His eye is all but cleared up. Sent while sitting on the runway for the past 30 minutes
