Title: sad day
Post by: CoralBeauties on September 22, 2018, 22:59:04
I lost my moorish idol today.  It has been doing well for me for 3 years now.  I have noticed its body has been sunken some lately.  It has always been a total pig at feeding time and yesterday it ate but not with much gusto.  It also had a pretty big section on it bottom fin missing within the last several days.  This was a very personable fish and will be missed.

I think I will try and get another once Lazy is back up and running.  They are such wonderful fish.  They sure are a center piece and have a wonderful personality.  It would chase me around as I would walk by the tank.

That sound amazing I would love to try to keep one but I’m intimidated by the expert level requirement.

What was your feeding regiment? We have had one a few months and i try to feed at least 2 to 3 times a day and i still cant get him fat. He is quite a pig too.

I usually fed twice a day. My home made food consisted of a blend of frozen brine, mysis, krill, chopped up nori and some formula 1 &2. He was always full bodied. Only thing I can think of was the last batch of food I mixed up I forget to put in the nori. Where did you get yours at Justin? Any trouble at first getting it to eat?

Got mine from aquatics galore. It took a few days to get him to eat so he lost some weight. Now he eats like crazy, keeps a big belly but overall is thinner than i would like.
