Some of you may know, my son Russell is having surgery tomorrow at OSU hospital.  He is having core decompression surgery on his right hip due to AVN.  He had a fever yesterday most likely due to lung issues.  He is now on an antibiotic and seems to be doing good this morning.  We will be staying the night in Columbus tonight because he has to be at the hospital at 6:00am with surgery at 8:00am.  He will be admitted for hopefully just one night but they said it could be longer.  The home recovery process will be a long one and I'm sure trying time for all of us!   :-\  Please say a few prayers for his surgery and then when we get home.

Thank you all so much for your prayers!  Talked to the doc he said his hip was wreally bad and honestly doesn't know if this will work.  H acn't put any weight on it for 6 weeks then can start to increase over the following 3-6 months.  If this doesn't work his hip will either crumble or worse fracture and will need hip replacement.  As soon as he is healed from this hip he needs to have it done to his left hip.  The good news is his left hip isn't as bad and this will probably work on the left one.  He is in recovery but we haven't seen him yet.  I think this is going to be a long process for him as well as the rest of us...

Update: it's been a roller coaster ride to say the least... Things didn't go as smoothly as planned and we ended up in ICU yesterday morning.  He is still there right now but mainly because there are no other beds available.  However the dr. feels this is still the best place for him so...  He did get some PT today,  He was able to take 3 steps with a walker!  He did well all things considering.  If he continues to improve at this rate he "may" come home tomorrow afternoon or more likely Friday.  He remains on O2 and still has a folley so we have a ways to go.  :(  Thanks again for all the prayers.  we appreciate then!

We finally made it back home yesterday afternoon!  He has done fairly well since being home.  He has a walker and wheelchair and we are getting by!  Thanks again for all your prayers.
