WTS: 2002 VW New Beetle GLS
« on: January 25, 2012, 10:40:52 »
With another little one on the way, Wife wants a New van... So I gotta clear out some of these vehicles.

This is the wifes old car through college... It's a 2002 VW Beetle,115K miles, 4cyl, 5spd, Ac, power doors, heated seats, etc... It is silver with like a splash line decal on the doors...

It runs just fine, But it hasn't been used in some time, so some standard maintenance may be required... I got in it and started it the other day and have been driving it around... Getting around 27 mpg currently.

-Brakes will most likely need done on the rears, best if all around.
-The brake switch appears to have gone out, not a hard fix though as it's under the rear seat. (doesn't impact the function of the car you just wont have tunrsignals without it lol)
$-Check engine light is on, But has been since I have met her... it's been to the dealer numerous times for it, never gets fixed, finally gave up on it.. doesn't affect the driving of the car, I will pull code if you need it.
-Not sure what else at this time, but you are welcome to come check it out, as I stated it's been in storage.

$1800.00 OBO

*corrected the mpg... I had the tank volume wrong it is getting 26-28 atm.

ROFL , you'd think I'd know... I want to say 120,000 and change, but no more than 140,000... I will let you know for sure later.... It was alot of highway driving for her when it was used as it's what she drove back and forth for school.

fyi, if the hazard lights don't work as well as the turn signals then it's most likely the the hazard button/relay in the dash that is the problem. had to replace the one on 2000 beetle we used to have.

We had a family member who was going to buy it but decided they wanted the malibu instead, so That is why I haven't updated this...

I just put in a new battery, the old one was trash from sitting
It's going to need tires sooner than later

It runs, and starts everytime I use it, but it needs some tlc... I just don't have the time or gumption and had to get it out of the shop to make room for some other toys.
