Ramathorn's 29 gallon reef
« on: April 03, 2013, 16:10:19 »
Moved to my in laws this past weekend, and today I moved my tank over... Well, the water, rocks, fish, and coral...

I switched to a 29 gallon, and rearranged my rocks, here's a FTS, still a little cloudy from the move, but I'll post pictures tomorrow when it clears up

I have a wide array of zoanthids, RPE's, rasta's, Dragon eyes, radioactive Dragon eyes, candy apples, GPE's, fire and ice, and some no names (will post pics tomorrow when water clears up) I also have a few ricordea, a mushroom, and some cabbage, along with a hammer. My livestock includes a few Hawaiian snails, 2 snowflake clowns, and 2 blue green chromis.

This tank was established in late January, and is my first ever saltwater tank. So far I've been doing everything I can to make this tank successful, using only RO/DI water, doing a weekly 10% water change, and keeping a close eye on the tank to make sure all inhabitants are happy.

The only real problems I've run into so far, is a little GHA (nothing too serious but I'll be purchasing a phosban reactor soon to help eliminate it). And the first coral I put in (RPE's) had a nasty little hitchhiker on it (nudi) which I quickly spotted and gave a short death.

I will post more pictures in the next couple days when the water is clear and everyone opens up after the move

Looks like a good start. Interesting circulation pump, what kind is it?

Sicce voyager 2, it's a little high rate for my aquarium, but better to be more than not enough right? Lol.

The thing I like about it is you can give it 5 different flow patterns by adjusting a disk on the front, you can run it wide open, straight medium, straight low, or medium turbulent or wide/low turbulent. Plus when I get my reefkeeper I will be able to turn it into a wavemaker

Here are pictures of the livestock in my tank, and a FTS now that my water has cleared up. I decided to move the rock that was in the middle on top, just didn't like the way it looked, I am really happy with it right now.

All pictures taken through front glass with my Samsung galaxy s3 (white balance set to "cloudy")

FTS

First fish added to my system, 2 blue green chromis (added after fishless cycle) other one is hiding

pair of snowflake clowns I picked up from booyah at swap

You got a really nice zoa collection going on there.
I have a Sicce Voyager as well. Very good pump with lots of flow. Mine doesn't have that nice disk to change flow through.
