What part of the impeller is breaking?  I have always had great luck with my maxijet pumps.  The only impeller issue I have had is on a 600 pump used with my kalk reactor.  I always figured it was the kalk causing the failure.

sounds as if something got into the pump intake and broke off the blades.  The old ones probably got chewed up and spit out alittle bit at a time.  do you have any filter or type of sponge covering the intake?

If you have any little critters, snails or such you might want to have the plastic intake screen that comes with the pumps.   Sponge filters if not cleaned regularly might cause excess nutrients to build up in the sponge and cause problems.  Even if some how a piece of gravel or rock would get sucked into the pump would possibly take out the impellers.   What size of pump is it?  I think I have some parts for a 600 and a 1200.  You are welcome to the screens if I can find them.

Yes that is strange.  wondering what might have gotten into the pump to break the impeller?

I talk to aqua c today and they said they no longer recommend the marine land 1200 because they changed the design of the 1200 the impeller floats now where it used to be fixed to the magnet of the pump not being fixed causes it to vibrate enough to break the impeller and also causes back pressure on the pump they recommend the cobalt mj1200 they said its the old mj1200 with the impeller fixed to the mag of the impeller
