pistol shrimp paired up with......
« on: January 18, 2016, 10:30:54 »
I picked up a pistol shrimp along with some rock flower anemones and a mini carpet over the weekend. The pistol shrimp went right to work digging its burrows. by the end of the day my purple fire fish paired up with it and is now sharing the burrows with him. I know the fire fish is a goby, but I haven't heard of them pairing up before. It was very shy and would only come out to eat. Now it's always coming out of the hole in the front of the tank with the shrimp right behind it. Its pretty cool. I will try to get a pic and post it.
It costs HOW much?!

Isn't it great?! You do have an unusual pairing, which in my opinion makes it even better :)

I think it's awesome! I'm glad I took the advice about setting my rock first, then adding sand because that little shrimp can do some serious excavating overnight!

Yes they can :) I keep a watchman goby and a candy cane pistol shrimp in every tank I have had

So does there ever come a day when a pistol shrimp decides he has moved enough sand? We have named our pistol shrimp Bob the builder! I think he may be excavating for a subdivision!
