if your skimmer starts lossing force from the pump check it...it might have a crab stuck in it.

esspecially if it starts to making a grinding noise like something being sanded, i get snails in mine

Okay, so everyone needs to comment now.

I just pulled two nice sized bubble algea out of my intake.   Plus tons of the small Hawaiian Strombus snails in the past.  This is one main reason I run a filter back on my tank drain......to keep the snails out of my skimmer.

I ordered mine directly from IPSF a few years ago........but aquavista99 will sell them to ya.
