So here is what you will get... Pizza and Beer and good natured ribbing about being geeks.

Here is what I will get... Help putting together a DIY LED Light system for my next tank, as well as I'm sure some good natured ribbing about not being smart enough to figure this stuff out on my own and ultimately a finished LED Fixture.

What I will provide.... All materials needed to complete the LED fixture and some comic relief and I will be the guy that holds and hands you stuff. I also promise to slow down production at random intervals cause I have AD.. Squirrel!

What you will provide... your inteligencia and hopefully your ability to solder.

If this sounds like the kind of relationship you are looking for please contact me... I'm eagerly waiting for your call.

Anyway. I really do want to build an LED fixture for my next tank, but the DIY threads on RC and places might as well be in Latin. 700ma this and resistor that and buck puck this. So seriously someone help me get started buying and help my put this thing together. I don't want to put together something that looks like I put it together and ultimately burns up a crap ton of LED $s.

some members of the club have tossing around the idea of a DIY LED group project.  I am waiting on details for that, as I want to add moon lighting to my current setup.

You know you want a 501 gallon tank just to make Andy mad

maybe so, Wes, but it's hawt nonetheless :)

In all seriousness, I am interested in LED moonlighting for my 29g.  Small project, but it could yield some nice results for sure.

JD and WES;

I think you are the boys of my dreams.

My tank will be 36x24 and I'm looking at doing 48-60. Here is the kit I was initially looking at:

Any chance you could send me the spreadsheet you've worked on?

Sorry to interrupt your courtship
Are these LEDs the type for accent lighting or to replace the main lighting of a tank?
Thanks and God Bless,
John

Whats the depth?

Overall it's 30". I'm thinking about running the water level at about 28" so I can do a wavebox if I choose to.

I'm actually going smaller and smaller, 375 -> 240 -> 200 -> 118.....  actually right now I only have my little 14G biocube until the 118 is ready.

He is approaching aqua-luminescense.  Similar to a cavitation bubble created by the pistol or mantis shrimps.  Any smaller and his tanks will emit light waves at a temperature of about 5000 K degrees :)

I know, I went way too deep for a joke here.
