Aiptaisia?

I noticed today on a rock I have two of these guys growing....  I think thats what it is anyways..  If my tank isn't all the way cycled how is this stuff living and growing?

Yup...Aptaisia.   They grow like weeds in just about any water.

I read peppermint shrimp will take care of these?  by the time my tank has cycled will it go crazy and take over?

Peppermint shrimp are a good choice, get the shrimp before the aptaisia get to big, IMO.

More than likely there are more that 2.   But I would start a proactive approach to control.   Pull that rock out and either chip off the rock around the anemone, or carefully scrap off the anenome, and then scrap the area where it was attached clean.
